SNACC is an exciting after-school program tailored to 8th and 9th graders in the South Bronx and East Harlem. It's a free program that combines culinary education, food exploration, and community bonding. We deliver fresh groceries to your door each week, and you join us for virtual cooking classes led by professional chefs, all while embarking on thrilling food-centric field trips.
SNACC is held every Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
Most weeks these sessions are virtual and take place in your own kitchen.
During the weekly sessions, our students get creative while preparing delicious and nutritious meals to enjoy with their families.
Some weeks we have field trips to exciting food-related locations!
SNACC participants will:
-
Receive a cookware kit with pots, pans, oven trays, bowls, and utensils.
-
Receive a box of food and fresh ingredients for that week’s session, enough to feed the student and their family members
-
Experience hands-on food education through cooking lessons, group activities, field trips, and more
-
Learn cooking skills, kitchen safety, leadership skills, life skills and more, in an inclusive setting that encourages community connections.
